Konawaena golf fundraising dinner Saturday

Konawaena High’s boys golf program has scheduled a Cinco de Mayo fundraising dinner at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Rosa’s Cantina and Sunset Grill in Kailua-Kona.

Proceeds will go toward travel expenses for the Konawaena golf team, which will compete in the Hawaii High School Athletic Association boys golf state tournament scheduled for May 9-10 at Kauai’s Wailua Golf Course.

All contributions are tax deductible.

Hawaii Prep seeks an assistant football coach for the upcoming fall season.

Ka’u High seeks football, cross country, boys basketball and girls basketball head coaches for the 2012-13 season.

Applications are available in the school’s main office.

Kona-Kohala golf tourney May 21

The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf tournament will take place at 10 a.m. May 21 at The Club at Hokulia.

The tournament features a two-person, best-ball format, and it also includes hole in one, closest to the pin and longest drive contests.

A Sheraton Keauhou Resort and Spa-sponsored awards ceremony follows the tourney.

The entry fee is $250 per person, and participation is limited.
